His collection is now regarded as the most significant private collection of Hong Kong art from the past two decades, cemented by a donation in 2020 of 90 pieces to M+.

An architect, artist and collector, William Lim is renowned as a patron and supporter of the contemporary Hong Kong art scene. Together with his wife, the Lims started collecting in the early 2000s, beginning with Chinese antiques before branching into contemporary art. Their collection, known as the Living Collection, is now regarded as the most significant private collection of Hong Kong art from the past two decades. The Lims' 2020 donation of 90 pieces to Hong Kong's museum of visual culture M+ is a unique document of Hong Kong art's trajectory in the twenty-first century.

Since the gallery's establishment in 1991, Catherine Kwai has been motivated by a desire to further artistic and cultural exchange between the East and West. Over three decades Kwai Fung Hin has launched over 160 gallery exhibitions, 13 institutional exhibitions, 52 catalogues and monographs, and 133 series of lithographs, earning a reputation for its expertise in 20th century modern art and Asian contemporary art.
