  • Highlights include a large-scale six-metre wide painting Zonguldak (1978) by Georges Mathieu, which was part of a series of seven works Mathieu specially created for his major retrospective at the Grand Palais in Paris in 1978. The paintings of this period exemplify the lyrical abstraction principles that favoured speed, intuition and free expression initiated by this pivotal figure in Art Informel.

Born in Valencia, Venezuela, in 1923, Oswaldo Vigas was an active member of the Parisian avant-garde art scene between 1952 and 1964. Much of his production has also been informed by folk tales and the Venezuelan indigenous mythology. Ancestral (1976) is a painting whose white elongated core suggests the shape of a pre-Columbian Venezuelan female deity generally called 'Tacarigua Venus'. This painting could be considered a homage to the first inhabitants of the region, in a way, his true spiritual ancestors.

As one of the pioneers in the Chinese Pop Art movement, Xue Song mixes ashes and found images to form collaged compositions to reflect his perspectives on social and cultural issues. Since 2019, inspired by the philosophical concept that 'Dao models itself after nature', Xue Song has shifted his focus to the abstract representation of the natural world, as in the new works - The Dao from Nature Series – Blossoms (2023) and The Dao from Nature Series – Harvests (2023), to envision the endless cycle and Dao of nature.
