Matteo Pugliese’s work at “Leonardo da Vinci: Art & Science, Then & Now”

20 Sep - 15 Dec 2019 | City University Exhibition Gallery

We are proud that our represented artist Matteo Pugliese’s large-scaled work “Nelle Tue Mani” (In Your Hands) is included to be part of the exhibition of “Leonardo da Vinci: Art & Science, Then & Now” organized by the City University Exhibition Gallery and Veneranda Biblioteca Ambrosiana, which is on view from September 20 to December 15, 2019. The exhibition includes 12 original drawings from Leonardo's Codex Atlanticus, brought to Hong Kong for the first time to celebrate the 500th anniversary of the artist’s death.

Located at the entrance of the gallery, “Nelle Tue Mani” is Matteo Pugliese’s interpretation of Da Vinci’s masterpiece “The Last Supper”. The work is composed of an outline contour of the figures and bronze sculptures of their hands, which act as carriers of the enormous narrative and emotional charge.
