Wei Jia was born in 1957 in Beijing. He earned his B.F.A. at the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing in 1984 and his M.F.A. at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania in 1987. Today, Wei Jia lives and works between New York and Beijing, and teaches at the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing.

 

Wei Jia has had numerous solo and group exhibitions internationally including at the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing, the National Museum of Art in Beijing, the Dadu Museum in Beijing, the CU Art Museum University of Colorado at Boulder in the U.S., Lincoln Center in New York, the Museum of Chinese in America in New York, and the Bruce Museum in Greenwich, Connecticut.

 

His works are in the public collections of the Brooklyn Museum in New York, the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, the Utah Museum in Salt Lake City, and the Dadu Museum in Beijing.
