Yet still one is bedazzled by his ability to pare down form and movement, to capture the essence of extraordinarily transient elements within such unfogiving materials as stone, bronze, wood and stainless steel. Indeed, the materials themselves lend an eloquent facet to the aesthetic impact of each sculpture through the juxtapositions they create- the density and gravity of stone and bronze against the grace and controlled movements of Tai Chi, calmly reposing figures evolved from the capricious material of wood, the shine and play of light on the surface of a stationary, weighty stainless steel sculpture, underlying the electric energy simmering just below its hard surface.
