XUE SONG (1965, China) |
|
|

Xue Song is one of the leading representatives of contemporary Pop Art in China. Unorthodox pictorial images made of collages from the disintegration and reconstruction of small fragments of burnt printed materials and fortified by vibrant colours is his own original language, by which he depicts various contrasts and dialogues, either between different facets of China and their drastic modernization in the last hundred years, or in the course of the interaction between China and foreign cultures, with or without sarcasm, but always full of the love of the Chinese tradition and the delicacy and elegance of the Chinese intellectuals.
